After completing the corse pose come up and sit in sukhasana. The word "sukha" means joy or comfort. Sukhasana is one of the most comfortable and easy pose. This pose is one of the meditative popses which strengthens the spine and when done at the beginning of the session, makes the mind receptive. Imagine that you are going deep into yourself leaving the outside world, when doing this pose. This makes your mind turn inwards which is called Pratyahara in yoga.
  1. Sit on a mat, or a yoga bolster or other props. easy pose
  2. Cross your legs and place your feet right below the knees. Now let the knees drop down to the floor.
  3. Place soles of the feet face to the sides while the toes will face forward.  Your feet should be under your knees.
  4. Make sure to sit high enough so that the knees are in level with the hip.
  5. Keep your spine errect and alignment of your pelvis by looking at your hip bones.
Doing the easy pose increases your posture awareness. It strengthens your spine and helps in symmetry. If you find uncomfortable doing this pose, try placing a blanket under your pelvis. You may also try using yoga blocks under your knees for better support and balance.
